LOT20 in Bathrooms

ECO desgin bathroom heating

There is alot of ambiguity over towel rails and the LOT20 regulation. Many sources claim that towel rails are not apart of the Eco design. But is this true ?

The directive states   "local space heaters specified for purposes other than indoor space heating to reach and maintain a certain thermal comfort of human beings by means of heat convection or heat radiation." Are not included.

There is a grey area. Towel rails is a broad term. They can be both bathroom radiators and towel warmers.

Surely a large multi rung towel ladder rail will be used to heat the room? Otherwise what are you paying for?

What is the solution ?

Well, as we like to think a towel rail could be used to heat a bathroom.

We have developed a fully eco design compliant solution. With the R3 heating element.
